Mr. Kapi Natto used the launch to express appreciation for the team behind the league setup—Paul Isorua, Leo Jakanduo, and Tonga Esira. He assured that similar futsal initiatives are being pursued across PNG.
Describing futsal as a skills-driven game, Mr. Kapi Natto said it can be played both indoors and outdoors. “Futsal is a very interesting game where people can develop their playing skills,” he noted. “Many top footballers globally began their journey in futsal.”
He pointed out that the new league will operate alongside other national competitions run by PNGFA, including Beach Soccer, Premier Soccer League, Women’s Conference Soccer League, and National Youth Soccer League.
The president also noted that today’s event marked a milestone for the association and the sport. “These teams are the foundational members of the newly established National Futsal League Competition,” he said.
PNGFA says the league aims to elevate talent nationwide and raise the profile of futsal as a formal sporting code.
