BSP Launches Self-Service Deposit ATMs to Improve Customer Convenience
Bank of South Pacific (BSP) has introduced Self-Service Deposit ATMs, offering customers faster and more seamless deposit transactions while reducing waiting times in branches.
The first Deposit ATMs were activated today at BSP’s Waigani Banking Centre in Port Moresby, marking the pilot phase of the new service. BSP Group General Manager for Retail Banking, Ronesh Dayal, said the initiative is part of a major upgrade to the bank’s ATM network, bringing advanced banking technology to Papua New Guinea and the wider South Pacific.

“We are rolling out 600 new ATMs across the BSP Group, reaffirming our commitment to making banking more accessible. This upgrade will introduce deposit-enabled ATMs in many of our markets, saving our customers time and reducing queues at our branches,” Mr Dayal said.
The rollout comes after BSP partnered with NCR Atleos Corporation, a global leader in self-service financial solutions, in January this year. BSP Retail Head of Payments, William Koregai, said the pilot sites in the National Capital District (NCD) include Waigani Banking Centre and Waterfront, with additional branches to follow in the near future.
“It’s an exciting time for us at BSP. These Deposit ATMs will provide 24-hour access for customers to deposit directly into BSP accounts, easing branch queues and giving customers more flexibility in how they bank,” Mr Koregai said.
BSP Waigani Banking Centre Branch Manager, Samuel Okti, was seen assisting customers with their deposits at the new ATM today.
Deposit ATMs are expected to be rolled out across Papua New Guinea in the coming months, with plans to extend the service to Pacific markets including Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and the Cook Islands.
