The three-day event from 15–17 August saw PNG promoted under the theme “Experience the Splendour of PNG with Air Niugini.” The showcase was part of a wider partnership between Air Niugini and the Changi Airport Group to market PNG across Asia as an exciting new holiday destination.

Over 106,000 visitors explored the NATAS Travel Fair, where PNG was represented by hotels and operators including Kokopo Beach Bungalow, The Stanley Hotel, and Country Tours. Travelers were introduced to a range of curated experiences featuring adventure, culture, and luxury tourism.

According to Air Niugini’s Chief Commercial Officer, David Glover, the partnership has enhanced PNG’s regional brand presence and strengthened the airline’s position as a link between Asia, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific. PNGTPA emphasized that the campaign also promoted local products such as PNG coffee and cocoa.

Air Niugini Chairman Karl Yalo described the event as a proud achievement for the airline, adding that the new fleet will help expand services and attract more visitors from the Asia market. He noted the campaign would help unlock the country’s untapped tourism potential.

The Jewel Changi Airport performance by the Galomarubu Kitoro Cultural Group, Asaro Mudmen, and representatives from multiple provinces was another highlight, drawing large crowds with traditional dances and music. The performance coincided with PNG’s 50th Independence Anniversary.

To complement the events, Air Niugini and PNGTPA hosted Singaporean travel agents on a tour of Port Moresby, Mt. Hagen, and Rabaul. Their experiences will now be incorporated into holiday packages aimed at boosting tourist arrivals from Singapore.
