The visiting leaders will be in the country throughout the week to participate in official programs commemorating Papua New Guinea’s golden jubilee of independence. Government officials have prepared a series of cultural and diplomatic events to showcase the nation’s achievements and vibrant traditions.

Their arrival in Port Moresby follows the successful conclusion of the Pacific Islands Forum Meeting in Honiara, Solomon Islands. The forum addressed key regional issues including climate change, economic development, and collective security, reinforcing the importance of Pacific-wide dialogue.

Minister Tkatchenko expressed confidence that the leaders’ participation in Papua New Guinea’s milestone celebrations will strengthen diplomatic ties and foster greater cooperation within the Pacific community.
