PNG's Air Niugini Cancels Hong Kong Services Amid Super Typhoon Ragasa Threat

Papua New Guinea's National Flag carrier Air Niugini has cancelled its Hong Kong flights PX 008 and PX 019 set for Wednesday, September 24, due to the looming impact of Super Typhoon Ragasa.

The airline said passengers holding tickets for these flights may rebook at no extra charge or request a full refund. Air Niugini expressed regret for the inconvenience and assured that passenger safety remains its top concern.

Weather authorities reported that the storm developed from a tropical disturbance on September 17 and is now east of Luzon in the northern Philippines. Forecasts indicate it will move west-northwest across the South China Sea before affecting Hong Kong mid-week.

Travelers can email the airline’s Commercial Service Centre at csc@airniugini.com.pg

for rebooking or refund details. Air Niugini said it will keep monitoring the weather and provide further updates as needed.
