The first returning flight, PX 154, will depart Port Moresby at 9:30am and arrive in Alotau at 10:25am, with the return service PX 155 leaving at 11:05am and reaching the capital at 12:00pm.
Boeing 737 flights will operate every Thursday from next week, while Airbus A220 services are set for Tuesdays, with extra flights during busy travel periods. The 737 also continues to serve Lae, Manus, and Kavieng.
The last Boeing flight to Gurney was in 2024, before the airport upgrade program began. Air Niugini thanked NAC for completing the works and expressed gratitude to passengers for their patience.
Both Boeing 737 and Airbus A220 flights will now provide residents and visitors with safe and efficient travel options.
“We are excited to welcome passengers back onboard our jets and provide reliable service to Milne Bay Province,” an airline representative said.
