PNG Education Department Begins distribution of Delayed Grade 10 and 12 Certificates to Schools
After weeks of concern from students and parents, the Papua New Guinea Education Department has moved to clear the backlog of Grade 10 and Grade 12 certificates by commencing nationwide printing and distribution. Grade 8 school certificates will follow after the Grade 10 and 12 certificates are printed and distributed.

The certificates are being produced by the Measurement Services Division and released to schools through Provincial Examination Supervisors. Education officials say schools should contact their PES offices to arrange collection as distribution progresses this week.
The department acknowledged that financial limitations and government budget reductions were key factors behind the delay, impacting MSD’s ability to print certificates on schedule.
Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra confirmed that the situation is now under control and assured the public that all schools will receive their certificates within the week.
He also noted that STEM certificates were finalised and distributed last week, separating them from the current batch.
Addressing concerns raised by parents, Dr Kombra warned schools against withholding certificates due to unpaid fees, stating that disciplinary action would be taken against any institution found violating the directive.
