The visit created an avenue for both countries to share experiences and explore practical solutions to ongoing urban development issues, particularly in delivering affordable and sustainable accommodation for government workers.
DPM Secretary Taies Sansan said the engagement reflected the importance of strengthening regional ties among Pacific nations.
“We are pleased to host our Pacific neighbours at the Department of Personnel Management. Together, we can explore practical strategies to improve public service housing and ensure public servants have access to quality and sustainable living conditions. Strong collaboration is essential to the growth and development of our respective nations,” she said.
During the program, Executive Manager Nancy Levi outlined key housing initiatives currently being rolled out, including plans for modern and cost-effective housing projects aimed at improving the welfare of public servants.
“Our commitment to providing adequate and dignified housing for public service personnel remains strong. We recognise that stable living conditions are fundamental to the well-being, motivation, and productivity of our workforce,” Ms Levi said.
The visiting delegation was also taken to a proposed housing development site, where they were shown plans that incorporate modern designs and environmentally sustainable features.
“This initiative is not just about building houses; it is about investing in our public servants and their families,” Secretary Sansan added.
“DPM is committed to advancing public service housing and facilitating long-term development in this critical area.”
