New South Wales opened the scoring through Nathan Cleary in the 14th minute before adding further tries through Nathan Cleary again in the 26th minute, Cameron Murray in the 29th minute and Bradman Best in the 56th minute. Hudson Young put the result beyond doubt when he crossed in the 80th minute. Cleary also starred with the boot, landing four conversions from five attempts and adding a penalty goal in the 70th minute to complete an outstanding individual performance.

Queensland continued to battle despite the deficit and found success through Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, who scored in the 34th minute to keep the Maroons in the contest before the halftime break. Selwyn Cobbo crossed in the 48th minute to give the home side renewed hope, while Jojo Fifita added another try in the 63rd minute. However, Queensland's inability to convert any of their three tries proved costly as they struggled to close the gap.

The Blues maintained their composure throughout the second half, matching strong defence with efficient attack whenever opportunities arose. Their ability to complete sets, control territory and capitalise on scoring chances prevented Queensland from building sustained momentum, allowing New South Wales to comfortably protect and extend their lead until the final siren.

Played under fine weather and on a good playing surface at Suncorp Stadium, the series decider highlighted the Blues' discipline and execution in every area of the game. Their balanced performance with and without the ball ensured they finished deserving winners and celebrated another memorable State of Origin triumph on Queensland soil.

In the final statistics, New South Wales scored 30 points from five tries by Nathan Cleary (14th minute), Nathan Cleary (26th), Cameron Murray (29th), Bradman Best (56th) and Hudson Young (80th), while Nathan Cleary kicked four conversions and one penalty goal. Queensland finished with 12 points, scoring three tries through Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow (34th), Selwyn Cobbo (48th) and Jojo Fifita (63rd), but failed to convert any of their three conversion attempts.
