Duma, who is also the Minister for State Enterprises, said Gorosahu had remained committed to his electorate and the party until his health no longer allowed him to continue his duties.

He described the late MP as a committed member of the URP and an important supporter of the coalition government.

According to Duma, Gorosahu’s contribution to the party and his service to his constituents would be remembered by the people he represented.

The URP has asked the public and media to respect the privacy of the bereaved family as arrangements are made.

Duma said the party was in contact with the family and relevant officials to coordinate the next steps, including arrangements associated with the State.

The late MP’s death leaves the people of Daulo mourning a political representative who served the electorate while also taking part in the work of the governing coalition.

“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our esteemed colleague and brother, the Hon. Ekime Gorosahu, MP, Member for Daulo, Eastern Highlands Province,” Duma said.
