MP questions Activist Noel Anjo's motives on protest march
Member for Wabag Robert Sandan Ganim has questioned the motives and independence of the self-styled activist Noel Anjo and his followers in NCD in giving a 24 hour ultimatum to the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill to resign.
Mr Ganim said said Noel Anjo had to make his stance clear in the current political-legal impasse involving the Prime Minister in light of his political party affiliation as seen in Wabag during the 2012 national general elections.
He said Anjo has to make clear his his political party affiliation although he claimed to be an independent candidate during the 2012 elections, he was seen with a certain political party in Wabag during the campaign. This party now has grudges against the Prime Minister because its members were terminated from Cabinet as ministers,” Ganim said.
Anjo was also seen moving around with MPs from the Opposition. Mr. Ganim question whose interest is Mr Anjo and his followers representing. .
He said that Noel Anjo should refrain from his current course as the chances in achieving his motives were very slim but would only prey on his remaining integrity.
The Wabag MP reiterated that the Prime Minister had exercised his democratic rights to go to court seeking a stay on his warrant of arrest and until this was decided by a competent jurisdiction, all Papua New Guineans including Noel Anjo, university students or police for that matter must respect the due process of the law and not succumb to cheap political ploys that were dangerous and detrimental to national stability and development.
