SP PNG Hunters call on fans support against the Ipswich Jets

It’s the biggest match of the year for the SP PNG Hunters and an intimidating atmosphere is being planned for their last home game against visitors the Ipswich Jets this weekend.

The gates will be open to children under the age of 16 to have FREE ENTRY to the outer area when the SP PNG Hunters play their last regular season home game in the Intrust Super Cup competition for 2014.

Students from selected local Primary schools will be invited to form a cheer squad from the stands to urge the Hunters on in their Round 23 game against the Ipswich Jets.

They will basically form the foundation for what is expected to be an intense atmosphere at Kalabond Oval with a bumper crowd anticipated.

PNGRFL CEO Brad Tassell said yesterday that the club wanted the biggest crowd possible in what is the clubs biggest game of the season; This match is like a grand final for us this weekend.

It’s a must win game to keep us in the hunt for a finals spot and we want the ground filled to capacity with fans screaming for the Hunters.

We want it as intimidating as possible and as loud as possible. It’s our last home game for the year and we thank the people of NGI for their wonderful support this year and have decided to allow free entry to the outer area for kids under the age of 16 for the match.

We hope that the community will respond and pack out Kalabond with 6,000 spectators on Saturday.” The Hunters play the 5th placed Jets this Saturday 9th  August at 2.30pm with tickets available from Agmark.

The Hunters will then round out their season with away matches against Wynumm Manly Seagulls and South’s Logan Magpies with a bye the last round before the final series.
