PNG Gold Medalist Steven and Dika arrive to a rousing welcome

Papua New Guinea heroes and Commonwealth gold medalist Steven Kari and Dika Toua arrived in Port Moresby half an hour ago to a huge crowd.

Hundreds turned up to witness and welcome the two weightlifters from Hanuabada.

The duo also arrived with the Team PNG.

After arriving the two and team PNG were quickly whisked away to the VIP room for a press conference.

Outside the International Jackson’s airport hundreds waited patiently.

Some were patriotic enough to fly the black, red and gold as they came in numbers to show their support to the two athletes.

For the first time since PNG joined the Commonwealth Games that, the country returned with two gold medals.

Geua Tau was the first gold medalist in 1990 Games in New Zealand followed by Ryan Pini in 2006 games in Melbourne and now Dika and Steven in 2014.
