PNG Parliament staff at High Risk
Staff working at the Papua New Guinea National Parliament are among some of the high risk candidates for lifestyle diseases.
Dr Jack Amana, a renowned Heart Specialist in the country, revealed this today after the first day of the free checks at the Parliament House.
The Free health Check was organized by the Hospital Poroman Foundation.
Dr Amana said, among the many parliament staff that his team checked today were two Members of Parliament, Lauta Atoi, and Anton Yagama.
''The lot of people here in the parliament with high blood pressure, diabetes that are currently on treatment. And a lot of them have Chemicar disease, coronary artillery disease, few of them I've refer overseas for them to have zeogram and enzeo plasty at least to say but you know whatever we are picking up is probably a tip of an iceberg.I think there are far more deeper things and these free health checks are perfect opportunity where we can just come out and then have a check just to know where our status.''
Meantime, the team will be at the parliament until the end of this week.
