Vaki Trial On
Police Commissioner Geoffrey Vaki told the National Court in his trial today that he did not implement the warrant of arrest on the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill last year because he was not given a briefing nor was he given police files that amounted to the arrest warrant by his arresting officers.
The arrest warrant was issued by the Waigani District Court on the 12th June 2014 and lawyers assisting the Fraud Squad cross-examined the Commissioner to establish if Mr. Vaki deliberately disobeyed a court order to arrest the Prime Minister.
Mr. Vaki stated earlier in his cross-examination that during his 44 year of service to the Royal PNG Police Constabulary, he attended to his constitutional duties and responsibilities effectively and diligently. PNGFM/ PNG Today
