The Pacific Games Venue, Sir John Guise  Stadium will come alight on the evening of July 4th as Port Moresby host the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Pacific Games and the Stadium is looking magnificent as contractors are racing with time to get it ready for the big event.
The turf or playing surface have been completed while the tracks has been already laid with the track markings to commence shortly. Said to hold a sitting capacity of 15 thousand the sitting on the Grand stands are being completed while the outer stands sitting is currently in progress.

The Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Stakeholders, representatives from business houses and sponsors hosted by the Games Organising Committee, CEO Peter Stewart said they will go ahead to host the SP Hunters game scheduled on the 13th of this month. Over 20 000 people are expected to watch the Hunters take on the Souths Logan Magpies on the 13th of May.

He said this match will be used to test the operational side of the venue to see if they are working properly so if any adjustment or fixing that needs to be done will be determined from this match in order to get the venue fully prepared and functional for the Pacific Games.
The Sir John Guise Main Outdoor Complex will be used for the Opening Ceremony, while sporting events that will take place there are Athletics, Rugby League 9’s and Rugby Union 7’s.

Tickets for the Hunters game will be one sale on Thursday 11th of this month. No tickets will be sold the gate during games day and fans are advised to buy their tickets early.
