John Mangos arrested
The suspended Chief Executive Officer of PNG Power, John Mangos, was arrested today over fraud and corruption charges.
Mangos turned himself in at the National Fraud and Anti-Corruption officer today with his lawyer, where he was questioned over the allegations of misappropriation and false pretence.
It is alleged dishonestly misappropriating 30-thousand Kina belonging to PNG Power in April when he was the company's C-E-O.
It was further alleged that he conspired with the Department of Labour and Industrial Relations to defraud PNG Power, breaching the Employment of Non Citizenship Act of 2007.
Mangos was transported to the Boroko Police station after an hour of questioning, where he was arrested and charged.
He was locked up and later released on a 1,500-Kina bail.
