Juffa Decries Lack of Protocol in O’Neill’s visit to Oro
An official visit by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill to Northern Province on the weekend without the knowledge of the Provincial Government and the Governor was described as rude and un protocol of a Prime Minister.
Governor Juffa says he was in the province attending to other matter as he wasn’t informed of the Prime Minister’s visit; he continues to say that it was an insult to the people of Oro who had mandated him to represent them in parliament.
During this visit Prime Minister O’Neill also dished out a K1.5 million cash to community development minister and local MP for Sohe district Delilah Gore for a health centre that came under the jurisdiction of the division of health for Oro administration. If the funds were meant for rehabilitating the Sio Health Centre then the funds should be channels through the Provincial Health authority that manages any project under the provincial health authority.
Such actions by the Chief Executive of the country not informing the local authority before his visit leaves a lot to be told and from according courtesy and protocol.
Governor Juffa queried whether the trip was also to campaign for the Prime Minister’s candidate who was removed from office by court after being found guilty of bribery in the ongoing Ijivitari by-election
