Social Media post helps PNG Police consficate illegal Sex enhancement products

PNG Police, Censorship office and Customs raided a company premise and confiscate illegal sex enhancement products in Port Moresby.  The raid was conducted after individuals working with the company advertised the  products on social media.

According to Deputy Chief Censor Mr Jim Abani, 371 Sexual Enhancement Products, including a Laptop and Notebook computer containing pornographic pictures and videos were found in the company’s premises during the raid.
Pharmaceutical experts from the Health department were also asked to examine the Sexual Enhancement Pills if they were legal for the PNG market and were deemed to be prohibited and illegal in PNG.
“The raid was conducted after concerns were raised after someone posted something on social media advising he was selling these products. It was then tracked down by our officers and we got help from the Police and Customs to carry out this successful operation,” says Mr Abani.
Mr Abani could not disclose the name of the company and its location as the matter is still under investigation by police.
“The matter is before the Courts and reports will be compiled and given to the Chief Censor to verify whether the laptops contain pornographic pictures which were believed to be found according to the officers during the raid,” says Mr Abani.
It was revealed that the valued of the Sex Enhancement Products are varied with one selling at K500 for just one pill, while the other product went for K20 per tablet.
Apart from the products being prohibited in the country, Health Inspectors said the pills can cause serious side effects or develop health conditions for the person that uses them.
