PNG Elections: Eight thousand ballot papers burnt in Hela Province

Over Eight thousand ballot papers were burnt in Tari Pori electorate over the weekend following an administrative error.
Tari Pori Returning officer in Hela province Mr. Jack Walara revealed this to the media saying the act was not some kind of illegal action rather it was just an administrative error.

Mr. Walara said the ballot papers were for the people of Awilakaiju however, the ballot papers came under one name belonging to Koroba.

He said this was mixed up because, in the past both Awilakaiju and Koroba were together but split up recently.
Meanwhile, he added that the papers have been replaced and are ready for polling today. PNGFM/PNG Today:
