Ijivitari, Sohe counting remains suspended
Quality checks for the Ijivitari and Sohe Open seats remain suspended as of yesterday.
This is due to the non-payment of allowances.
Returning Officer for Sohe Open, Duncan Korapeba, said since the beginning of counting to this date, the Electoral Commission has not come good to the counting officials in terms of their allowances prompting them to intervene and disrupt counting in the province.
Ijivitari Returning Officer, Ebame Uduru, shared similar sentiments and said quality checks and elimination process for Ijivitari and Sohe Open will not commence until the Electoral Commission verify to the counting officials when they should be paid their allowances.
