PNG PM Marape tells Ministers, Department Heads to showcase performance

Papua New Guinea Electoral Commissioner Patilias Gamato has  announced new revised dates for the Local Level Government elections for the country. 

• Nomination will open on Thursday June 27.
• Campaigning also starts on the same date.
• Nominations will then close on Thursday July 4, and Polling and Counting will kick in on Saturday July 20.
• Polling and Counting will end on Thursday July 25.
• The LLG elections will end on Friday July 26, with the return of Writs.
• Nomination will run for 7 days, campaigning 14 days and polling and counting will be 6 days.

Commissioner Gamato says since the writs have already been issued, the Electoral Commission will move straight into accepting nominations from candidates who want to contest. NBC/PNG Today
