A Senior policeman found dead in Western Province

A senior policeman in Western province was found dead, and investigations are currently underway, to establish the cause of his death.

Provincial Police Commander Superintendent Brian Kombe said the deceased officer, was the Rural Police Commander at Tapila outpost, along the South Fly District Coast.

Superintendent Kombe said the officer was reported missing on Tuesday, and a search and rescue team comprising of Police officers from Daru and locals in Tapila searched and found the policeman's body on Thursday in the bushes.

He said police detectives are in Tapila to conduct investigations, and the findings together with the findings from the post mortem, will establish the possible causes leading to his death.

Meanwhile the body is placed at the Daru Provincial Hospital morgue awaiting a post mortem.
