Stranded PNG Citigens overseas want to return home : Manning

Close to 480 PNG citizens stranded overseas have applied to return home.

In his daily COVID-19 briefing on Saturday, SOE Controller and Commissioner of Police David Manning says NOC is working closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Consular services overseas on the details of their repatriation.

Australia will be the point of transit for all the stranded PNG citizens.

Hence, Manning says the Department of Foreign Affairs is working with the Department of Foreign Affairs in Australia to get the authorization.

The SOE Controller assures all the stranded PNG citizens around the world that they are doing their best to ensure the citizens return safely to the country.

Manning adds, they will be in isolation for 14 days upon their arrival in the country.
