PNG Air Operating Under COVID-19 Travel measures
PNG Air wish to reiterate New COVID-19 Travel Measures. All Domestic flights within PNG will require approval to operate from the Controller and all passengers traveling by aircraft from one province to another must have the Controller’s approval to travel prior to issuance of a ticket. Passengers who have bookings issued prior to 10th August are exempt from acquiring approval for travel.
All intending Passengers who wish to travel with PNG Air must:1. Complete an Individual Air Passenger Travel Form stating reason for Travel and submit with a valid form of ID to your ticketing agent. The completed forms will be sent to the NOC Centre for the Controller’s assessment;
2. Customers must allow 48hrs for submissions to be processed by the Controller;
3. Customers will be advised of the outcome 48hrs after submission;
4. If approved by the Controller, customer will pay and collect ticket from the PNG Air Sales office.
Reasons for Travel:
• Students returning to their usual place of residence or returning to their educational institution (one way tickets to be issued) – Letter of Education Institutions to be attached;
• Persons returning to their usual residence (one way tickets will be issued);
• Essential Services – Letter from Company to be attached;
• Essential business travel – Letter from Company to be attached;
• Seeking medical assistance and medivac – Medical Referral letter to be attached; and
• Emergency Transport, including but not limited to repatriation of deceased person – Death Certificate to be attached.
PNG Air will continue to operate under strict COVID 19 Health Requirements per below;
•Hand Sanitizing at Counters and Gate Checks;
•Social Distancing at Check-in, Boarding and disembarkation;
•Issuance of Face Masks at Gate Checks;
•Face Masks will be worn by passengers for the duration of the flight and disembarkation into the designated Terminals;
•Inflight Catering will not be served; therefore we recommend the passengers have a meal before your flight.
A courtesy reminder; National Declaration of Health (NDOH) Forms will continue to be distributed and must be completed and presented upon arrival into your domestic port of travel. PNG Air will ensure to operate in a safe and compliant manner as per Pandemic Measures issued by the PNG Government. These are trying times for everyone although we encourage all to; stay safe, maintain social distancing and wash your hands every day.
