PNG Electoral Commission to allow Port Moresby North West MP Lohia Boe samuel to nominate
PNG Electoral Commissioner, Simon Sinai said the Commission will accept nomination from the Member for Moresby North-West because he is not found guilty by the courts.
He said Mr. Samuel is still a Papua New Guinean and has the right to nominate.
Commissioner Sinai said the same applies to any intending candidate unless they are proven guilty in court.
There is no law stopping a person who's arrested for a crime and going through the criminal process to nominate and contest in the election.
The Waigani Committal Court has given another month for police to carry out investigation into the shooting death of a man who was in the company of Mr. Samuel and one other, in March.
