Air Niugini celebrates its Golden Jubilee on 01st November this year
Papua New Guinea's National Flag Carrier airline, Air Niugini is celebrating it Golden Jubilee on November 1st, 2023. The airline posted the following statement.

As we count down to the airline’s 50th anniversary, we will be taking you down memory lane, showing you pictures of how it all started, from the very first flight to pioneer staff, the various aircraft types, livery to different cabin crew uniforms and so forth.
First up, the first flight , PX 100 on a Fokker F27 Friendship aircraft which departed Port Moresby for Lae and Kieta via Rabaul. Mr Michael Thomas Somare, then Chief Minister of the Territories cut the ribbon to launch the initial flight, witnessed by Air Niugini’s first General Manager, Mr Ralph Conley and others who were present for the launch.
Conley joined Air Niugini from Trans Australia Airlines(TAA) where he was an executive seconded to Qantas and then offered Air Niugini’s top job.
