Air Niugini Celebrates Success of Inaugural Emerging Leaders Program
In a landmark achievement, sixty-one employees of Air Niugini, representing diverse departments within the airline, have triumphantly completed the first-ever Air Niugini Emerging Leaders’ Program. This significant milestone propels the graduates onto a trajectory of progress and career advancement within the esteemed airline.
The intensive 10-month program was meticulously designed to unlock the leadership potential inherent in the participating employees, both in their current roles and for future responsibilities. Featuring a blend of classroom instruction, personalized one-on-one coaching, and hands-on project execution aimed at strategic and cultural transformation, the program stands as a testament to Air Niugini's commitment to nurturing talent from within.

The brainchild behind this initiative is Air Niugini’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gary Seddon, who spearheaded the endeavor upon assuming his role in March last year. Under his stewardship, considerable financial resources were allocated towards initiatives such as customer service training and leadership development, aligning with the overarching vision of the board to empower and equip staff with the requisite skills and expertise.
Speaking on the significance of the program, Mr. Seddon emphasized its alignment with the board's vision of fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Deputy Board Chairman, Mr. Anthony Seeto, extended the board's unwavering support to the graduates, commending their dedication in balancing work, studies, and family commitments throughout the program.
