Marape Commends PNG Customs for Exceptional Performance Despite Economic Challenges

 Port Moresby, July 1, 2024 — Air Niugini has announced an increase in its direct flights between Port Moresby and Hong Kong, expanding from three to four flights per week, effective today. The additional service will operate every Monday, complementing the existing flights on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

For over 30 years, Air Niugini has provided this popular route between Port Moresby and Hong Kong. Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gary Seddon, highlighted the significance of this increase, stating that Hong Kong is a global hub. The additional flight ensures greater capacity and convenience for the airline’s business and leisure travelers, as well as cargo shippers.

"Hong Kong is a global financial and aviation hub, with onward flight connections to over 200 destinations through our codeshare partner, Cathay Pacific, and other partner airlines. This expansion presents a valuable opportunity for the business community," Mr. Seddon said. "For leisure travelers, Hong Kong offers vibrant streets, diverse cultures, culinary excellence, and more."

All Air Niugini flights between Port Moresby and Hong Kong are operated using the airline's comfortable wide-body Boeing 767 aircraft.
