Sir Arnold Amet Appointed as PNG Ambassador to the United States
Papua New Guinea has officially named Sir Arnold Amet as its new Ambassador to the United States. His appointment was confirmed during a commissioning ceremony attended by Foreign Affairs Secretary Elias Wohengu, senior officials, and members of the diplomatic community. The position had remained vacant for a considerable period, and his endorsement by King Charles III and U.S. President Donald Trump marks a significant step in strengthening PNG-U.S. relations.

The Marape-Rosso government reaffirmed its confidence in Sir Arnold Amet, emphasizing that his selection underwent rigorous assessment at the highest levels of government and the Commonwealth.
