PNG’s Creative Identity Shines Through at Fiji Fashion Week
The 2025 Fiji Fashion Week featured a vibrant showcase by a Papua New Guinea delegation led by Florence Jaukae Kamel, internationally recognised for her bilum-inspired fashion rooted in PNG tradition.
The team’s participation was viewed as a defining moment for PNG’s fashion industry, demonstrating a growing role in Pacific creative collaboration. The runway theme, “GENESIS,” aligned with the team’s focus on new beginnings and regional unity.
Model and brand ambassador Incennea Minz walked the runway in Suva, representing PNG with bold elegance that embodied the fusion of traditional art and modern aesthetics.
Bridgette Kassman accompanied the delegation to provide operational support, representing PNG Fashion Week’s leadership and coordination behind the scenes.
Air Niugini, the official airline partner, sponsored the team’s travel, reinforcing its role in promoting PNG’s culture and innovation abroad.
Designer William Maba Bray was at Jacksons International Airport to farewell the group and is slated to appear later this year at the Goroka Bilum Festival, strengthening regional fashion ties.
PNG Fashion Week described the appearance not just as a fashion event but a statement of heritage and progress, signalling PNG’s growing place in global fashion dialogue.
