The airline hosted the country’s first “Airbus Beyond” Training Program from June 23 to 26, 2025, involving 18 staff from various departments and ports. The interactive, simulation-based course challenged participants to make real-time decisions in airline operations, from fleet planning to cost management and customer service.
Air Niugini CEO Gary Seddon congratulated the trainees and described the program as part of the airline’s broader transformation to build a future-ready workforce. “This is more than training—it’s a step towards redefining aviation excellence in PNG,” he said.
Participants developed critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills to meet the demands of Air Niugini’s new fleet and enhanced service model.
With the Airbus A220 set to offer fuel efficiency, quiet performance, and superior passenger comfort, Air Niugini is reaffirming its commitment to service excellence and regional connectivity in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.
Mr. Seddon emphasized that people development and succession planning remain central to the airline’s long-term transformation goals.
