Seven Women Honoured for Leadership at PNG’s 2025 WOW Awards
Seven influential women were honoured last night in Port Moresby during the 2025 Westpac Outstanding Women (WOW) Awards, which spotlight female leaders making a difference across Papua New Guinea.
Held for the 18th time, the awards showcased achievements in seven categories: Entrepreneurship, Not-for-Profit, Private Sector, Public Sector, Sports & Arts, Sustainability, and Young Achiever. The winners were selected from a pool of over 150 nominees from across the country.

Taking the top honour was Anne Shirley Korave, recognised for her environmental and health initiatives through her social enterprise Queenpads. She was also the category winner for Sustainability.
Westpac’s Chairwoman Tamzin Wardley said the awards aim to inspire inclusive leadership and celebrate women who are creating meaningful impact in PNG’s communities.

- Violet Bukon (Entrepreneurship)
- Delsie Casper Nick (Not-for-Profit)
- Raka Numa Raula (Private Sector)
- Dr Pamela Toliman (Public Sector)
- Anne Shirley Korave (Sustainability)
- Rutha-Meu Omenefa (Sports & Arts)
- Julie Rereve (Young Achiever)
Anne received PGK 5,000, a 12-month mentorship with Westpac PNG, and an invitation to attend a leadership symposium in Australia.
Westpac Pacific MD Emma Low said Anne’s work highlighted the power of community-driven innovation. Westpac PNG CEO Andrew Cairns added that the winners are examples of leadership that’s uplifting Papua New Guinean society.
