The visit began with a tour of the Matheson Library, where discussions resumed on the installation of the Amelia Earhart Monument. The team also visited the American Corner and reflected on the progress made since last year’s groundbreaking ceremony.

Ms. Sanderson and her team explored the Schools of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Applied Physics, observing student activities in labs and workshops. She praised PNGUoT’s commitment to practical learning and said it was a “phenomenal visit.”

Vice Chancellor Professor Ora Renagi stated that the university values international partnerships and is eager to improve research capacity, global exposure, and academic quality through such relationships.

The US Embassy team also interacted with students, presenting scholarship and exchange opportunities at the Matheson Library, with sessions set to continue throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.
