PNG Kumuls Ready for Cook Islands Test, Says Captain Rhyse Martin
Papua New Guinea’s rugby league captain Rhyse Martin says the Kumuls are ready to deliver a strong performance when they meet the Cook Islands Aitu this Saturday in Port Moresby for the Pacific Championships.
After helping Hull KR to a Super League title, Martin said he was delighted to return home and captain what he believes is one of the best squads PNG has assembled in recent memory.
“The squad we have is probably one of the strongest we’ve had in a number of years. We keep getting stronger every tournament we get to play in,” Martin said during an interview.
The match at the National Football Stadium marks an important moment in the Kumuls’ campaign as they look to continue their strong form in front of home supporters.
With Martin’s proven leadership and international experience, the PNG side enters the weekend’s fixture brimming with confidence and determination.
