The meeting, held last Friday, builds on momentum created by the app’s official launch during the Digital Transformation Summit 2025 in Port Moresby.
DICT Secretary Steven Matainaho said the department is eager to identify a practical use case for SevisWallet, with voter registration emerging as a priority area for digital reform.
He noted that technical assessments are underway to determine whether the platform could securely support Common Roll Enrollment while laying groundwork for a future Digital Voter ID system.
Acting Electoral Commissioner Margaret Kivori Vagi led the commission’s team and expressed confidence in the direction of PNG’s digital public infrastructure and the opportunity for institutional collaboration.
Mr Matainaho said updates would be shared as both agencies continue working through implementation options and system integration.
“We are discussing options for use of the SevisWallet App to host Common Roll Enrollment, and hosting of a possible Digital Voter ID,” Secretary Steven Matainaho stated.
