CHINESE WOMAN APPREHENDED

The Immigration Task Force Rausim Alien team has made yet another astounding discovery of foreign nationals being involved in illegal businesses in the country.

This time it's a wanted woman from China, who was on the run for some time.

Fifty-Six year old Wang Tanhong (Tan Hong) also known as Linda Wang from Beijing, was picked up by the Immigration Task Force, after a long search in the National Capital District.

She's wanted for allegedly conducting businesses with fraudulent documents in N-C-D as well as in other main centres in the country.

The woman's also alleged to have previously operated a visa and work permit agency company, responsible for bringing in unskilled workers from mainland China into P-N-G.

Task Force says according to intelligence report indicate that Miss Tan-hong was responsible for the influx of Chinese national who do not speak English applying for work permit which resulted in the boom of fast food and snack bar outlets in PNG major cities and towns.

The report further say she was using her company as a cover to create non-citizens position and provide consultancy services in work permits and visas for Chinese nationals to work in PNG.

The woman was also believed to have networks in vital government departments, including PNG IPA, Immigration and Labour department.

She had been doing this for years and when she realize that there was an investigation carried out on her, she took a low profile and moved over to Bougainville where she secretly conducted business there until her arrest.

The Task Force Team members said Ms Tanhong premises was previously raided and was also arrested by the Trans-national Crime Unit in 2008 and 2009 at Boroko and 6-mile area for being in possession of stolen goods and pornographic materials. NBC
