Police Mum On O’Neill’s Arrest

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill was not arrested when he arrived from China last night. Reports of his arrest started hitting the airwaves this morning. Top Cop Toami Kulunga and Andy Bawa were all at the airport tonight when PM touched down at Jacksons at 9pm sharp. Task Force Sweep boss Sam Koim was also there to meet Mr O’Neill and his delegation.
Jacksons Airport was packed with more than eight security personnel’s specifically police and his line of supporters, the Ministers and MP’s.
Security was tight at airport, access was blocked off and it was close-knit operation where PM’s security was guaranteed.
Sam Koim, boss of Task Force Sweep said it was a very sensitive issue and he could not confirm or deny the arrest. Kulunga also refused to comment including Andy Bawa.
PM flew to China on Wednesday evening, the same time Post-Courier was alerted of the instruments to arrest him by security forces and those from the Courts.
Prime Minister refused to take in questions tonight as he was whisked right through to his awaiting vehicle. PM’s arrival was scheduled as 10am today but cancelled. PM’s Media later advised he would get into Port Moresby as 12am but did not as he arrived at 9pm.
As of 11pm Prime Minister was still in a meeting with Sam Koim, Kulunga Bawa and other officials at a private residence. It is not clear at this stage what charges he faces and by midnight talks were still being carried out.
Mr O’Neill is facing defensive issues but Police last night were tight-lipped about the whole issues.
