Poyle denies giving party ultimatum
KANDEP MP and leader of the Triumph
Heritage Empowerment (THE) party Don Polye says the report by The National
about him giving an ultimatum to his party members to stand by him or move on
was misleading. He was referring to the paper’s front page report
last Friday.
He said he never gave any of his party members an ultimatum and described the report as “false and untrue”.
“Therefore, I’d like to ask the management or the editor of The National paper to apologise or write a letter explaining why they put down a piece of news that is absolutely not true.
“My party members had three resolutions in the meeting last night (Thursday), the Deputy Prime Minister and others were there.
“What happened was that THE party members and members of the parliamentary caucus reaffirmed my leadership although not a minister. Second is that they want to have party solidarity, we work together as a team, and thirdly is that we remain within government ranks.”
