Former Diplomat murdered in Port Moresby
ONE of Papua New Guinea’s long serving foreign diplomats was mercilessly killed in his office over the weekend at around lunch time by a man believed to a former work colleague.
Former deputy ambassador to Japan and now director general of the protocol division at the Foreign Affairs and Trade Department, Dennis Taylor Bebego, was murdered in his office on Saturday morning at the new Westpac building at Waigani, after he was attacked by a "colleague" who worked with him in the same office for more than 10 years.
And already condolences are flowing in from all over the foreign missions he worked with most of them from Japan where he last had his posting.
According to National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent N’dranou Perou, the victim died from blood loss, as he was chopped multiple times at different parts of his body, with wounds to his head, arms and legs. Police are investigating the killing.
