CRASH SURVIVOR GIVES ACCOUNT

One of the survivors of the plane crash Saturday morning, says the thick fog at the site of the crash could have caused the accident. Father John Paul, who is a priest in the Goilala area, was one of the survivors who received treatment at the Port Moresby General Hospital today. He said their view was blocked until the mountain they crashed into, loomed right ahead just a few hundred metres, and could have been late for the pilots to lift the aircraft. Father Paul and two others were the first to be taken to the hospital. The three survivors who were at the hospital were shaken and speechless. Meanwhile people from the Sogeri area say that area is known for foggy conditions and precaution was necessary for pilots and aircraft operators. The Twin-Otter aeroplane belonging to Hevilift crashed Saturday morning at 10 am on Mt. Lawes near Goldie, just outside Port Moresby. Nine people were on board, and 3 were dead instantly including the two pilots.
