RICKSON ‘THE POWERHOUSE’ YAMO CROWNED WKF PRO CHAMPION

The World Kickboxing Federation has crowned Rickson ‘the Powerhouse’ Yamo as the WKF Pro K-1 Light Welterweight Title holder after former title holder, Jarrko ‘the Turbo Deisel’ Jussila, pulled out in the first bout.
Anthony ‘Sood Lhor’ Ford also retained his Pro Muay Welterweight World Title against an enthusiastic Lee ‘the Flash’ Garap.

The kickboxing fraternity and enthusiasts came out in numbers to witness the first of two Pro World Title fights to be staged in the country.

Leader of the Opposition, Belden Namah, was given the privilege of officially opening the night’s events.

The night featured some of the upcoming kickboxing talents, with four amateur kick-boxers taking the ring, a pro boxing bout, as well as 2 pro kickboxing bouts, before the anticipated first World Title fight.

Current WKF Pro Muay Thai Welterweight World title holder, Anthony ‘Sood Lhor’ Ford, took on his opponent Lee ‘the Flash Garap’.

With the support and the home-ground advantage, ‘the Flash’ jabbed and kneed ‘Sood Lhor’ in the first bout.

The anticipated World Title fight was short-lived as Lee ‘the Flash’ Garap was ruled out on a broken nose after an elbow jab by Anthony ‘Sood Lhor’ Ford.

The main event of the night drove attendants to the edges of their seats.

Determined to get that World Title under his belt, Rickson ‘the Powerhouse Yamo came out and with a thunderstruck right kick, left his opponent, Jarrko ‘Turbo Deisel’ Jussila, ruled out on a torn muscle.

Despite his loss, Jarrko remains determined and will be preparing for his next fight in Jakarta.
