PORT MORESBY POLICE CONFISCATE OVER THOUSAND BEER CARTOONS
More than one-thousand cartoons of beer have been confiscated from two shops in the nation's capital for NOT adhering to the city-wide alcohol ban, this afternoon.
N-C-D police raided the shops at East Boroko after being alerted by their superiors, who had been driving around the suburb earlier.
About five police vehicles stormed the East Boroko store-line this afternoon leaving shoppers and market goers shocked.
The police confiscated hundreds of beer cartoons in two Asian Owned shops.
According to NBC, there were four beer outlets there.
Two belonging to the locals were closed with respect to the NCDC Liquor Ban, however, the two namely Maosen and Marling Trading belonging to Chinese nationals were still selling alcohol to the public, despite the ban.
When asked the Chinese shop assistant told NBC news their boss got the OK from NCDC to sell, but have nothing in written to show the police.
The other shop assistant said they had no idea about the NCDC Liquor Ban, as there were no notice being served to the owner, notifying him of the ban.
