PNGRFL Board accepts Tassell's resignation
The PNG Rugby Football League today officially accepted and welcomed the Resignation of CEO Brad Tassell following his decision publicly made yesterday.
“Brad Tassell has been an important member of the team, he has worked hard. He has contributed a lot to the Game in the last four years working with this board and the board members acknowledges his contributions to Rugby league and the people of this country and we wish him and his family well in his future endeavours,” says PNG RFL Board Chairman Mr Sandis Tsaka.
Been the CEO of PNGRFL and by virtue of this office Mr Tassell was also the CEO of the SP PNG Hunters. And Upon receiving his resignation yesterday Mr Tsaka flew over to Kokopo to meet with the Hunters Players and Management seeking to ensure stability and continuity, and to ensure that the program managers, team managers and officials were made aware of this decision.
“I flew over to Kokopo together with SP Hunters Chairman Graham Osborne and we spent the night with the boys to pledge our support to the Hunters program. Coach Michael Marum and Skipper Israel Eliab were happy that with the approach we took and the feeling in camp is stable,” says Mr Tsaka.
The Chairman added that the Board remains united and intact and wants to assure Stakeholders and the Rugby League fraternity that they will continue to roll out the program that it already has in place.
Meanwhile Mr Tsaka also announced that Brad’s brother Jason Tassell has also handed in his resignation today for his role with the SP Hunters and the PNGRFL, but he will be still attached to the Hunters until March 22nd when his resignation will be effective.
While the Board has appointed former Vipers Coach and Hunters head trainer Shane Morris as the Interim CEO.
“Shane Morris will be acting as interim CEO until PNGRFL engages a Human Resources Company to seek application for a suitable candidate to replace Brad both domestically and internationally,” says the Chairman.
Mr Tsaka said that they have all their board members intact as they have been in constant dialogue with their sponsors and partners with the committed from all their stakeholders the progress they have made will be maintained and continued. PNG Today/ PNGFM
