PNGHRI Conference gets continuous backing from Bank South Pacific
Bank South Pacific (BSP) has continued to back the Papua New Guinea Human Resource Institute (PNGHRI) with the Silver level sponsorship of K10, 000 towards PNGHRI National Conference to be held next week from 26th - 28th May.Theme: 'Celebrating our 40 years of political independence and reflecting on our journey,' the annual three (3) days conference will attract Human Resource professionals in all sectors in Papua New Guinea workforce to seek ways HR leaders to provide fresh insights, global ideas and solutions four our everyday professional application in PNG.
PNGHRI President, Jerry Wemin thanked BSP for the continued support and is one of a long term partner and supporter of PNGHRI.
"PNGHRI believes there is no successful PNG without an engaged national workforce. The next 40 years must be PNG's "Era of the people." To achieve our Government Vision 2050 Goals, PNG's People must among the top 50 nations of the world. Only competent people will shape our country and its future." Mr Wemin said.
"PNGHRI is committed to integral people development, professional excellence and national development through organisational development and we thank BSP for their continued interest and participation in various PNGHRI sanctioned activities," he added.
BSP's Human Resource General Manager, Giau Duruba was pleased at the work of PNGHRI to bring HR professionals together to discuss issues and find solutions with issues that currently affect human resource specialists in the country.
"BSP is pleased to be supporting PNGHRI and its work in developing Human Resource policies and initiatives to benefit Papua New Guinean workers." Mr Duruba said.
"Human Resource section or department is an important part in any organisation that works to address or raise issues between employees and employers and empowering HR professionals through this event is important to bring change in the field." He added.
BSP is a strong supporter of human resource development and this is reflected through various internal and external training programs for BSP employees.
One of the most notable training programs is the BSP Leadership Development Program (LDP) program. The objective of the LDP is to mentor and develop staff to take on senior and executive leadership roles in the next 3 - 5 years.
BSP's also has the graduate development program which seeks to give graduates from tertiary institutions and colleges an opportunity to be trained and employed in the various departments in the bank.
