272 Police Officers pass out from Bomana

The ranks of the country’s police force have been boosted with 272 police recruits graduating from the Bomana Police College today, among them 37 females including 23 police recruits from Bougainville who were supported through AusAid and the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

“Now that they (recruits) are passing out it is a testament to their belief to become police officers, therefore I encouraged them to uphold the uniform they wear and respect that privilege above all they are not to abuse their role as a police officer’s”, said Perou N’Dranou the Bomana Police Commandant.
The county already boasts 6,300 police personnel of whom 500 are women and with the graduation the number now increases to a total of 6,572 police personnel with 537 females serving in the force.
