Grand Chief Somare greeted for the last time as Politician in his home town
It was an emotional event when the country's founding Prime Minister and East Sepik Governor Sir Michael Somare arrived to his hometown of Wewak on Thursday, 13th April, 2017.
Thousands gathered at the Boram airport and lined up the road from the airport to the Sir Michael Somare Stadium for the main activities to farewell the Grand Chief, as he winds down his 49 years in politics.
Students lined up on the streets as Sir Michael was escorted in a motorcade.
