PNG Finance Minister Abel apologizes for Bounced Cheque
Papua New Guinea Finance Minister, Charles Abel, has assured Gulf Governor, Chris Haiveta, that future cheques for the province will not bounce.
Governor Haiveta was presented a K3m cheque last year by then prime minister, Peter O'Neill for infrastructure development for the province, however, it had bounced.
This year, another cheque of the same amount was presented by Minister Abel, but suffered the same fate.
Mr Abel apologized to Governor Haiveta in Parliament saying he will ensure the monies are available this time.
