PNG Deputy COVID-19 Controller and Health Secretary Dakulalal dies
The second in charge of the National Pandemic Response in Papua New Guinea has passed away.
Deputy National Pandemic Response Controller and Deputy Health Secretary, Dr. Paison Dakulala passed away early this morning.
Health Secretary Dr. Osborne Liko confirmed with NBC News, the late Dr. Dakulala was brought to the Accident and Emergency Unit last night and while doctors attended to him with due diligence -he died of natural causes.
Dr. Liko says Dr. Dakulala's COVID-19 test was negative.
He adds that the passing of Dr. Dakulala has left a big vacuum for the Department during this challenging COVID-19 times.
