This after the Reference containing a total of 22 allegations together with the statement of reasons was presented by the Public Prosecutor Pondros Kaluwin, to members of the Tribunal chaired by Justice Les Gavera-Nanu yesterday, (Thursday, 16th June 2021).
Mr. Kaluwin informed the Tribunal members that as required by law under Section 28 of the Organic Law on Duties and Responsibilities of Leadership, upon presentation of the reference, the Leader shall be automatically suspended with pay from performing his duties.
This is not a finding of guilty but it is a requirement under the law as he faces a Tribunal.
Lawyer representing the Leader, Greg Sheppard told the Tribunal that they acknowledge Section 28 of the Organic Law, and asked for a 21-days adjournment, to examine the documents.
The matter returns to Court on July 13th this year.
